Global Business Mobility visas
The Global Business Mobility (GBM) visa routes are designed for overseas businesses that need to send employees to the UK for specific business purposes. These include transferring senior or specialist staff, graduate trainees, seconded workers, service suppliers under trade agreements, and employees coming to establish a UK presence. Each route serves a distinct business function and has its own eligibility criteria. These visas are generally temporary and do not lead to settlement.

Senior or Specialist Worker Visa
This route is for senior employees or specialists being transferred to a UK branch of their overseas employer. The role must be genuine, skilled, and paid at least £48,500 or the going rate. You must work for a sponsor licensed by the Home Office and have worked for the overseas entity for at least 12 months (unless earning over £73,900). Dependants can join you, but this route does not lead to settlement.
Graduate Trainee Visa
This route is for employees on structured graduate training programmes leading to senior or specialist roles. You must have worked for the overseas employer for at least 3 months before applying and be sponsored for an eligible role. This visa does not lead to settlement.
UK Expansion Worker Visa
This visa is for senior employees or specialists being assigned to the UK to establish a new branch of an overseas business. You must have worked for the overseas business for at least 12 months (unless exempt). This route does not lead to settlement.
Secondment Worker Visa
This route is for overseas workers being seconded to the UK as part of a high-value contract or investment. You must have worked for your overseas employer for at least 12 months. This visa does not lead to settlement.
Service Supplier Visa
This visa is for contractual service suppliers or self-employed professionals providing services in the UK under international trade agreements. You must have relevant qualifications and experience. This route does not lead to settlement.
