The Secondment Worker visa is part of the GBM routes and allows overseas workers to be seconded to the UK as part of a high-value contract or investment between their overseas employer and a UK business. This is a temporary assignment and does not lead to settlement.

To qualify, you must:

• Be employed by an overseas company with a high-value contract with a UK sponsor
• Have worked for that overseas employer for at least 12 months
• Hold a valid Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed UK sponsor
• Be coming to perform an eligible secondment role

There is no specific minimum salary threshold, but the role must meet appropriate skill and remuneration standards.

There is no English language requirement for this visa route.

Yes. You can bring:

• Your partner (spouse or unmarried partner)
• Children under 18 (including those born in the UK during your visa stay)

Dependants are allowed to work and study in the UK.

You can stay in the UK for up to 12 months initially, and extend your stay up to 2 years. This visa does not lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).
