The UK Expansion Worker visa is for senior or specialist employees of an overseas business who are being sent to the UK to establish a new branch or subsidiary. It allows overseas businesses to expand into the UK without having an existing trading presence. This route does not lead to settlement.

To qualify, you must:

• Be working for an overseas business that has not yet begun trading in the UK
• Have worked for your employer for at least 12 months (unless you earn £73,900+ or are exempt)
• Be coming to the UK to set up a branch or subsidiary
• Hold a valid Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed UK sponsor
• Meet the salary requirement

You must be paid at least £48,500 per year or the ‘going rate’ for the job, whichever is higher.

There is no English language requirement for this visa route.

You can stay in the UK for up to 12 months initially, and extend your stay up to a maximum of 2 years. This route does not lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Yes. You can bring:

• Your partner (spouse or unmarried partner)
• Children under 18 (including those born in the UK during your visa stay)
